I’m about to take a test drive of the EV6 this weekend (along with another car). I’ve been seeing a lot of talk on this forum about battery and EV system issues lately. Is this car more trouble than it’s worth, or are the problems just getting a lot of attention? Would love to hear honest feedback from owners!
If you drive the EV6… you’re gonna want it.

Put it in sport mode, hit the pedal hard…welcome to the EV6 family.

It’s like a rocket, seriously.
@Quinlan
It felt like I left my stomach back there.

Just put your stomach in the front trunk. It’ll stay put there.

Good idea, haha!

This is reassuring! How’s the turning radius? It looks like it might be wider than what we’re used to, and that matters to us.
@EvanSparks
It’s a bit wide, like a small truck. That’s because of the long wheelbase, not the width.

I noticed that on our GV60 too, must be the same base model.

They share the E-GMP platform.
@EvanSparks
Depends on what you’re used to. The turn radius is bigger than my wife’s Mini, smaller than our Honda. It’s the only drawback I’ve noticed, but I’m used to driving a Mini.
@EvanSparks
Honestly, the turning radius is fine for the car size, and I can parallel park it just fine. Also, the 12V battery issue can be avoided with an AGM battery.
@EvanSparks
Turning radius is decent. You’ll really like the GT Line trim.
@EvanSparks
Comparable to a Subaru Outback; quite good for a longer car.
@EvanSparks
If you’re used to a larger sedan like the Camry, the EV6 won’t feel much different in handling.

That’s good to know! We have a Camry now and think the turning radius is just fine.
@EvanSparks
I definitely had to get used to it. Came from a 2016 Optima and it felt different. But now I don’t even think about it.

Absolutely agree.
It’s not as widespread as some posts make it seem, but the concerns are real. Just make sure all recalls are done. If you’re worried, get an AGM battery for peace of mind. It’s a great car.
