I suppose you might be wrong, and I hate you.
THE BIG BAD EVs ARE COMING TO GET YOU. BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.
On the plus side, these folks will choose hybrids because they see EVs as ‘the enemy’. At least that’s a step in the right direction.
@Jason
Fun fact: ‘Nimrod’ used to be a name for a skilled hunter, thanks to the Bible. Bugs Bunny then used it sarcastically, and now it means ‘idiot’.

Maybe he just hates having all that torque.
Out of nowhere, he’s against something that doesn’t affect him at all.

Isn’t that what most people get angry about?
I’ve seen videos of people damaging EVs for no reason. It’s concerning. I drive a cheap EV and don’t want it scratched just because someone’s mad at their life.
@Jory
It’s basically vandalism over something harmless. A complete waste.

Exactly. And most of them get away with it. You can hate a brand or the owner, but damaging a car just because you’re upset at the world makes no sense. And no, I don’t drive a Tesla
No one wants to talk about the underlying anger some folks have, and that’s a bigger issue.

He’s against something that benefits everyone. Makes no sense.

When most cars become electric, the price of gas will go up since fewer cars will need it. It could make gas stations scarce, kind of like how charging stations are now. But that’s decades away. Still, I can see why someone who loves big gas-guzzling cars might get nervous about the future.
@Micah
People don’t destroy flat-screen TVs because they miss CRTs. These petrolheads are just an extreme bunch.

Not the best comparison. It’s more like film cameras vs digital. And yeah, there were probably purists who trashed digital cameras too. It’s never okay to damage someone’s property over change, but it’s valid to be upset about it.
@Micah
If someone gets upset because I’m offering a better tool, that’s on them. Maybe they need therapy.

“Better” is subjective. Just because something works better for you doesn’t mean it’s better for everyone. Like film vs digital: it depends on what you need it for. Eventually, most will go electric, but there’ll always be a few holding on to the past.
@Micah
Not subjective. EVs outperform ICE cars in almost every performance metric.

Except for towing, hauling, or long road trips.

If you’re willing to pay for more batteries, you can have them. And charging networks can improve too. This is just the beginning.
@Ameliascarlet
I’m not saying they can’t do it; just that ICE does it better…for now.

I think we all know where this is going…
