I found a deal on the EQB 250 and wanted some opinions:
$320–$350/month (tax included, depends on credit)
12,000 miles annually
$1,000 down
2-year lease
I’ll be commuting about 60 miles to school and back 2–3 days a week. Should I go for it? I’ve heard some mixed things about this car, so if anyone owns one, let me know your thoughts!
I switched from a 2022 CLA 250e to a 2024 EQB 250+. Overall, it’s a solid car, and I’m happy with it. The only downside for me is that they removed the trackpad, and the touch controls on the steering wheel are tricky. Swiping in the right direction isn’t always easy.

Wait, they got rid of the trackpad? Is it touchscreen, though? Did you get any extras, or is yours the base model?
Yeah, the trackpad in the center console is gone. I used it a lot too. But yes, the screen is touchscreen and works fine. Other than that, the car is great.

How long have you had it? With my commute of 60 miles a few times a week, how often would I need to charge?
I’ve had mine since September. A 60-mile commute is fine. The longest trip I’ve done is about 280 miles on a single charge in eco mode with strong regen settings. Charging from 10% takes about 4 hours on a standard outlet (in the UK).

If possible, charge it up to 70% daily. For a 60-mile trip, you’ll use roughly 30% of the battery. Keeping the charge between 70% and 40% can extend battery life.

Does that even matter for a 2-year lease? I’d rather not charge daily if I can avoid it.
Well, what if you like the car so much that you decide to keep it? If you have a home charger, it’s really easy—just plug it in, and it stops charging at your set level.

A lot of the issues people talk about are overblown. If you’re not doing long trips, it’s a great car. Don’t let the YouTube reviews scare you.
Most complaints are from people switching from gas cars to EVs. The braking feels different because of regen, but you’ll get used to it. It’s just a matter of adjusting to the car.

I’ve driven about 10,000 miles on my EQB 350. The only downside for me is the range. If I drive really carefully, I can get 240 miles per charge. But at speeds above 65 mph, that range drops quickly.
Other than that, I love it. The controls feel natural, and it doesn’t try to reinvent basic features just to be different. I would be cautious about owning it beyond the warranty period, though.
@Jess
Thanks for the insight! I’m leaning toward getting the 250, but is there a big difference between the 250 and 350? Should I consider the 350 instead?

I got the 350 because I found a demo model at the same price as the 250. The 350 is faster, has all-wheel drive (4MATIC), and slightly better interior materials. If you can charge at home, the range difference shouldn’t be an issue. Just make sure to check local charging station availability if home charging isn’t an option.
