How much did your first service end up costing you?

I have been told the going rate for the first service is about $650. That seems pretty high, but I’m unsure what they do in this service. It’s the 2-year or 30,000 km service for my car.

I bought my car from an official Kia dealership. I am considering getting a second quote because I plan to keep this car for many years.

For context, I am in Europe, by the way.

My service at 8,000 miles was free. I’m about to go in for my 16,000-mile service, and I’ve been told that should also be free.

I had to call a few dealerships before getting my first service done. The dealership was quoting me for a regular gas car. Turns out, for the EV6, the service should be pretty minimal and shouldn’t cost more than $100.

My first 8k service was free and so was the one at 16k. Getting ready for the 24k service but not sure how much that one will be yet.

Same here. Both my 8k and 16k services were free (I’m in Oregon, US).

@Johnstone
Did they hit you with a $40 charge for a tire rotation? I was told it would be free, but they tacked on the tire rotation.

Yeah, I just checked my paperwork, and it was $25 for the tire rotation at 8k miles.

@Vince
Which state are you in? I’m in Oregon.

EDIT: Just went through my records, and I paid $25 for the tire rotation at 8k miles.

We paid $12 for our first service.

I can’t see what they’d do for $650 that makes sense.

$650? I’d ask for an itemized breakdown because that sounds like a total rip-off.

Mine was free. They rotated the tires, changed the cabin air filter, and topped off the washer fluid. That was it.

What are they planning to do for $650? At 2 years, it should just be fluids check, tire rotation, maybe wiper blades and a cabin filter if you haven’t changed it yourself.

Zero cost for my 24k service since they did a software update as well.

Because I had a service update, I didn’t pay anything, but if I didn’t, it would have been $39.99.

I haven’t paid anything for any of my regular services so far.

Lol, service departments are struggling now that EVs are becoming more common.

I paid $700 because they had to clean my brake discs, which rusted from lack of use. I use the regenerative braking too much in iPedal mode, so the brakes never really get a workout. Remember to use your brakes now and then, folks :sweat_smile:.

I’m in the Netherlands. My first service at 30,000 km (around 2 years) cost 385 euros, including 55 euros for brake fluid replacement.
