Ford is reducing the working hours for some of its German factory workers as demand for electric vehicles falls. This shift highlights how global carmakers are adjusting to market changes.
Maybe they should make more EVs available for sale? I stopped waiting for the eTransit Custom.

Or at least give it a better range.

The Explorer and Capri have decent range, but they are still ugly crossovers with too high a price tag.
@Jai
I was talking about the van.

Yeah, not sure what happened, but the initial figures were already at my bare minimum range, and it’s only gotten worse. Still not even out in Australia, and I don’t think it’s coming to the US either.
@Tully
Yeah, I need about 300 miles. I’m eyeing the Renault Master Etech L1H1. If it has the biggest battery, it might be okay. It’s pretty cheap too. I’ll wait a year or two for a hefty discount on used ones. Looks like my next van will be electric. No more wet belts for me.
@Terry
Renault Master Etech? Yeah, that’s a much larger van, similar to the Sprinter/Etransit.

Yeah, L1H1 size would be fine for me. But an Etransit Custom would be preferable.
@Terry
I’d love for BYD to make something in that size. Or maybe Hyundai could put a Staria Load on eGMP.

I switched from a Ford Focus MK3 to a VW Golf. Ford doesn’t have any regular cars as EVs (like Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo), not even as PHEVs. It looks like they’ve stopped selling normal cars altogether in Europe. Do they even want to sell anything here?
VW is also cutting hours for German workers.

Ford’s EVs in Europe are based on VW’s.

Guess they need to save money for those Rivian shares.

What EVs is Ford building at this German plant?

@Drew
It looks awful. How does this even pass their design reviews?

It’s just a rebadged VW ID4. Ford didn’t get their act together to make their own zero emissions vehicle for the EU, and they need to meet fleet emissions regulations.
