@Shannon
I’m surprised people still don’t know what a rebadge is. Shared platform doesn’t mean it’s a rebadge. The exterior, interior, and even the dimensions are different. It’s built by Ford in a Ford plant. VW and Ford share platforms for both ICE and EV, but that doesn’t make it a rebadge.
Can we all agree that the MEB platform is not great? It’s not efficient, the switchgear is bad, and the software is so poor that VW had to buy into Rivian (ironically after Ford sold their shares).

Cool story, but you don’t know much about the current MEB. ID7 and ID3/4 facelifts are top-tier for efficiency and range. Stop being stuck in 2020.
@Jai
This forum is mostly American posters. Nothing VW does can ever be right. The MEB cars weren’t great at first, but they’ve gotten better. I’d buy any 2024 model. They’ve got good charging curves and solid handling. The price could be lower though, and they need to ditch the piano lacquer interiors.
@Misha
Well, owning a 2020 ID3 and having driven a Model Y, I can say the Tesla advantage is gone once you realise they can’t do CarPlay. With the ID3, any software shortcomings are easily fixed with apps on my phone, something I can’t do in a Tesla.

I don’t think the MEB is that bad. The latest Enyaq and ID.7 are pretty competitive in terms of efficiency. They’re even better than the Mach-E. They’re not top of the pack on charging, but they’re better than many others and on par with Tesla. The software is debatable, but their semi-autopilot is one of the best for the money. It’s definitely better than Tesla’s.

Badge engineering with a mediocre platform is never going to work.
