@Marcell
Exactly, only in a real pinch would I consider it.

I try to support businesses that treat their employees well and are owned by ethical individuals. For this reason, I would prefer not to use Tesla chargers unless absolutely necessary.
I’ve heard negative things about Elon Musk, but can someone explain why he’s considered controversial?
@Brett
Musk’s political affiliations and his actions on social media platforms reflect a controversial stance that aligns with far-right ideologies.
@Brett
He’s been involved in several actions and statements that support authoritarian and undemocratic principles.
@Brett
The general perception is that his support for certain political figures aligns him with their ideologies.

It’s not just perception; his actions and endorsements make a clear statement.

Supporting a fascist effectively makes you one by association.

His support for problematic figures isn’t just a bad look; it actively promotes harmful policies and ideas.
I mainly charge at home and don’t see myself needing Tesla chargers.
I’d use Tesla chargers only when there are no other options during a road trip.

The main advantage is having more options and not worrying as much about where to charge.
I’m waiting for the official OEM adapter to be available at a lower price. I don’t trust third-party adapters for my expensive car. I’ll test it out, but plan to use it only as a backup.
I’ll consider the adapter if it becomes necessary for travel in areas without good CCS coverage. My charging is mostly done at home, so it’s not a priority.
While EA is often mentioned, there are many other charging options like EVgo, ChargePoint, and some gas stations now offering fast charging. The market is expanding with new options soon.

It really depends on your location. In some areas, options like ChargePoint are mostly level 2, which isn’t ideal for quick charges. EVgo tends to be pricier but more plentiful.
@Harlem
In NJ, I’ve found the EVGo chargers along major routes to be unreliable. The best options are often the EA chargers at major shopping centers.
@Harlem
Do you use a Tesla Adapter for charging at Tesla stations? If so, which one and how has it worked out?
If they provide me with a free adapter, I’ll keep it for emergencies. I’m not eager to support a network that benefits someone whose actions I don’t agree with.
I have no intention of spending my money at Tesla chargers.
The NACS adapter will be a backup option for me. I prefer faster charging stations but it’s good to have more choices.
