Why don't electric cars come with a little gas engine inside?

I don’t want a car that mixes electricity and gas, but I think it’s possible to put a little generator, like a tiny cooler, in a car to charge it if there’s an emergency. It would be better if the generator was already in the car instead of having to carry it separately. But I don’t want the gas inside the car, for safety.

Electric cars, also known as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), are designed to be powered solely by electricity, which is stored in large battery packs. These batteries supply energy to electric motors that propel the vehicle.

Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are designed for eco-friendly, electric-only operation. They exclude gas engines to uphold environmental integrity, maintain design simplicity, optimize space for larger batteries, and ensure energy efficiency. BEVs focus on converting electrical energy into motion more effectively than traditional engines, supporting a sustainable future without fossil fuels.
