Absolutely, a dash cam is essential. I even had my dash cam delivered before my new car arrived. You never know, it could save you from many issues with authorities and insurance, or you might capture something worth sharing on dash cam-focused YouTube channels.

All four cars in my family have dash cams. I simply don’t trust other drivers to be honest when something goes wrong.

I use a Vantrue N2 Pro, which has both front and rear cameras and infrared night vision. It works well, but it’s quite old, and I’m considering a replacement. There are integrated cameras that can be mounted inside the plastic housing around the rear view mirror, which I find very appealing and plan to explore further.
