@Piper
I’ve had better luck but still, I see stations with a broken charger here and there. That’s why I mostly charge at home.

But how many of these chargers are actually working?

At least Tesla chargers seem reliable haha

I’ve only had one Supercharger plug go bad on me, and I’ve done around 3000 miles of DC fast charging. The plug next to it worked fine though.
Whatever you say about Tesla, their chargers do the job well.
I’ve been talking about this a lot. It’s frustrating that EV charging spots in my area haven’t been updated or expanded. I use Electrify America because it’s free with my Ioniq 5, but the same stations with 4 bays have stayed the same since they opened years ago. More EVs on the road now and still only 4 chargers. There’s always a line now.
And gas stations are still being built with no EV chargers at all. By 2024, there really should be a rule that any new gas station must have chargers too.
@Zadie
I think Electrify America underestimated how much people would use the free charging. They didn’t charge manufacturers enough for it, and now they don’t have enough funds for expansion.

Also, since it’s free, folks just sit there until their car’s at 100%.
@Bao
Exactly. Then they get mad when EA shuts their account down for breaking the rules by unplugging and plugging back in to reset their free 30 minutes. I’ve seen at least two posts about this in the Electrify America user forum where people admit breaking the rules but still act like they were wronged.
@Xian
I did this once at 2AM on a long road trip lol. Nobody saw me, but I still feel kinda guilty. I didn’t get banned though.
@Zadie
Electrify America gets slammed because of the Hyundai/Kia promotion. Kia owners only get 1000 kWh free, but Hyundai gets three full years of unlimited charging. My credits are almost gone, so I’m switching to something else since EA’s prices are way too high.
