Front plates are required in Texas, and I found a no-drill solution. Not sold on how it looks, though. Meh…
Do Texas cops actually enforce that law? A lot of people I know here in Maryland don’t bother with front plates. They just keep them in the glovebox, and if they get pulled over, most cops let them off with just a warning or nothing at all.
@Poe
They definitely use it as probable cause for a stop here.

I’ve been driving without front plates on all my cars in Texas for the last 10 years. Cops aren’t looking for probable cause when you’re driving a Taycan, but I get why you’re cautious.
@Poe
Unfortunately, yes they do.
@Derry
Same here, in Texas, and I’ve never had a front plate. No one cares.

My mom lives in a small town where they rely on traffic fines for revenue, so I’ll definitely have it on when I visit her.
@Aza
Yeah, neither of my Escalades have front plates either.
@Derry
It’s a stoNsho. I’ll ride without it unless I get pulled over, or if I’m going out drinking—don’t need a probable cause stop with alcohol on my breath.

Or just don’t drink and drive…
Not a great idea. If you hit something steep, it could damage the bumper.
Source: happened to me.

That’s the beauty of the stoNsho—it’s removable. I’ll likely keep it off unless I get ticketed, then I’ll show a picture with the plate on and they’ll usually dismiss it. The lift function with GPS memory should help too since it automatically lifts at saved locations. Hopefully, that saves the bumper
I’m going without the front plate here in California. Knocks on wood until I get a ticket. Haven’t had one on my other cars either.

There are tons of Teslas out there with no front plates, and they seem to get away with it.

Same here in California—no front plate for me either. I got one ticket after a year, so I just budget for the occasional ‘front plate tax’
@Emerson
Yeah, just don’t drive in San Francisco. I went years without front plates, then one day in the city, a meter maid on a bike got me.

Got my first warning a few weeks ago.
