I got a price quote of $995 to install a special electric outlet with a strong power supply. Is that a fair price or should I ask someone else for a quote?

@Amanda I invested $250 to have a 14-50 outlet installed directly below my garage panel. The cost can vary based on the installation location; wiring for a 50-amp outlet can be quite costly.

I spent $1,000 on installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet right beside my panel. It ended up being quite costly for me

Hi Amanda! It really all depends on where you want installed, wire for a 50 amp outlet is expensive. Exact same for me. $250 .
The same is true for me. $250. directly above the panel.
What is the duration of the run? It’s highly overpriced if it’s only five feet; if it’s fifty feet or more, the price is reasonable.
