I recently came across a 2-year lease deal that seems incredibly attractive, almost too good to be true. I’m tempted but cautious. Could there be hidden fees or conditions? I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has taken a deal like this or has any advice on what to watch out for. All insights are welcome.
Yep, got my lease from them last month, they’re legit. You need to be a Colorado resident otherwise you won’t qualify for a credit they’re rolling into that price. It’s 10k/year for 2 years. Works perfectly for me since I work from home.
Tax & title will be extra.
I got the wind AWD + tech package for $148/month with the same down payment.
@Conley
How much is the CO credit?
It’s in the fine print in the ad the original poster posted.
That’s a pretty wild number but I’ve heard Colorado is offering some ridiculous incentives. I’d be calling that dealership to get numbers in writing before getting my hopes up. That said, even if they come up by $200/month, it would still be a decent deal.
@Harlan
Meh, not really. California is way better… Using cap and trade tax dollars and being low income. I got a Spark EV for free in 2018 trading a 1996 or older Geo Metro I paid $700 for it and got a Spark EV because the Geo Metro failed smog. After which they crushed the Geo Metro… after selling the Spark EV, more grants and rebates came so I bought a NEW 2020 Bolt EV for free IN 2020… lemon law it way too many issues, bought 2022 Niro EV for free, phantom braking legal dispute. So picked up a Bolt EV again 2020 for $4k no issues finally. But honestly, California is way better.

So your low-income “job” is junk trader?

Disabled. No job.
Make sure it is 10,000 miles/year, not 10,000 miles total.

It was 10k a year.
I laugh about the fact they pictured a GT on the flyer. To catch your eye but then have us like ‘oh, now that I got your attention, this is actually for the light!’
Now divide that $1,999 (or $2,000) by 24 months. You got $83. Plus $50, getting you around $133 per month. For God’s sake… please, don’t down payment anything you are going to lease. If in any case you happen to total that car, you lost that $2k right away (not that I hope you total it).
Tell them, no down payment, ask for $150 for 3 yrs instead. My buddy got his Wind RWD for $175 per month, no down payment, for 3 yrs. I got my Wind AWD for $240 per month, no down payment.
@Maxwell
Definitely don’t put any money down and roll the tax, title, and fees into the lease payment which will obviously make it higher. I think the original poster should stick with the 2-year lease term because with EV6 leases, the 2-year term usually has a lower monthly payment than the 3-year lease.
@Ash
Interesting - I didn’t know the 2-year leases were cheaper than 3-year leases

It’s just the way the numbers work out. The lease cash is lower on a 3-year lease but obviously, it’s 12 months longer so you’re spreading out a higher depreciation over a longer period of time.
For example, if I take the MSRP and selling price (discounted price) of a specific EV6 and plug them into a lease calculator with 2-year lease terms and then calculate it again with the 3-year lease terms for the same mileage, you’ll see the monthly payment of the 2-year lease is lower than the 3-year.
@Maxwell
Even so, if this is the only way to do the deal it’s such a good deal it’s still worth it. $2k is my note for 2.5 months of ownership so just don’t crash the first few months and you’re good.
@Maxwell
Which state are you in, I got it for $520 for Wind AWD with $0 down and I live in PA, with a credit score of 675

These guys are talking about Colorado. If you’re not in Colorado you can forget about it.
@Maxwell
I put down $5k on my Light Long Range RWD lease, and I’m still paying $281/mo for a 12k/3yr lease. I guess I got screwed, should have asked you to help me. I never leased a car before but I felt like I knew what I was doing, despite not knowing.
I plan to buy the car when the lease expires, so the total out of pocket will be about $39k, not bad for this car.
They offered me 72 mo financing at 0%, and the total out of pocket would have been $50k. I don’t understand how lease then buy is $11k less, but that’s how the numbers worked out.
