I know it’s not “automatic” but a simple tap on the door handle when closing it will lock it, with the beep as confirmation. Feels as close as possible to automatic

Lock with a tap works well, about 95% of the time for me. But unlocking with the same tap, more rare maybe 70% success. Seems like I have to have the key right close
@Bailey
To unlock, I just touch the bottom side of the handle and it auto opens

Wait! What? Is this a thing? Have to try
@ElectricDreamer1
Briefly hold your thumb or finger on the small sensor opening on the outside any of the 4 door handles as you walk away. The car will lock. You will see the handles retract and (at least my car) does a couple of short “whoops.” You likely can change the lock sound in the settings. You never have to take the key out of your pocket for unlock, driving, and locking.

This is an extra option called comfort access

It appears to have been standard on my 2022 in the US.

It’s an option called “comfort access”, only available if your car had it optioned on purchase
Why is VW giving Rivian money again? Software. It should help for things like this…in a few years…
I just assumed it does walk away lock and haven’t been locking it, good thing I live in a good neighborhood

Door handles retract but car is not locked if you didn’t lock it. Can just pull and open the door

Not to mention Tesla by name, but other cars have been doing this for a decade or more
@ElectricDreamer1
I think you’re a bot. Your post history doesn’t pass the sniff test.

Feel feee to sniff my butt any day
It isn’t spartan like Teslas. They have you buttons for more luxury, and they want to make sure you use them.
Omg who wants a Porsche to “bip” when locking? First time I hear someone say they want a bip lol

When it doesn’t automatically locks the doors, a beep wound make sense

No, I can just use my hand to touch it and close it or press the button , I would hate my Porsche to beep like a Yaris
If you have Porsche connect just lock from the app
