Looks like Stellantis is focusing on flexible EV production, but their Ram electric truck seems delayed. What do you all think is going on?
This probably explains the silence about the Ram Rev. It was supposed to launch this year, but it’s looking unlikely.
What about the Ramcharger? Is that delayed too?
Feels like they’re waiting to see how things unfold, especially in the US market.
I heard rumours that they’re bringing back V8 Chargers and Hellcats instead. EVs might have taken a backseat for now. Plus, there’s talk about Trump wanting to give tax rebates for cars made in the US.
@Aris
The HEMI isn’t coming back to passenger cars anytime soon. The 3.0L engine is better in almost every way except sound.
Also, Stellantis is sticking to stricter emissions regulations no matter what Trump says. Tavares seems serious about keeping Stellantis green, no matter the cost.
Are they actually making a real EV Ram or just another PHEV?

The Rev is a full EV. The Ramcharger is the PHEV.

The Rev is a full EV. The Ramcharger is the PHEV.
So, it’s a pure EV with a gas generator? Doesn’t sound like a pure EV to me.
@True
No, the Rev is completely electric. The Ramcharger is the one with the generator. They’re two separate models.

Got it. Good to know. I’ve always liked Ram trucks—had three over the years.

Actually, the Rev stands for Range Extended EV, which means it’s an EV with a combustion engine as a backup.
@Jem
I get that, but Ram is calling their fully electric truck the Rev. It’s confusing, I know, but it’s a 200kWh truck with 400 miles of range and no gas engine.

Plug-in hybrids are practical for trucks. You can drive on electricity around town and use gas for long hauls.
@Griffin
That’s fine, but it’s not really answering my question.

Your question seemed more like a dig at PHEVs. They’re not as flashy as full EVs but are still very practical.
@Reagan
Read it again carefully. There’s definitely a question in there.

You’re just being rude at this point. Hope your day improves.

Nobody needs to get this worked up over trucks. Let’s just keep it civil.

@Carter
Fair enough. Maybe we all need to chill and focus on the topic.
