My wife had to leave for a business trip and we had just picked her new car from the dealership. We both agreed that the original wheels were not doing the car justice. So, while she was away, I took it upon myself to make some upgrades. I replaced the wheels, added a ceramic tint to the windows, wrapped the chrome window trims in gloss black, and removed the old badge, making way for a sleek black 4S badge that’s on its way. Now, she’s set to ride in style.
Those new wheels are definitely an upgrade!

The stock ones just did not do the car any justice, these new ones are so much better

They seem designed specifically to encourage upgrades, don’t they?
@Zero
Or maybe for efficiency? I doubt it!

Absolutely!

Did they really need to be so big? It’s like there’s just a thin strip of rubber on those things. Still, they look way better than those terrible aero wheels.
@Oli
Base wheels are meant for better range, but these new black wheels just look like a dark void. I can’t believe how many Porsches have been sold in the past few years with such unattractive black wheels.

Did you have to adjust the suspension to deal with the increased harshness from those wheels? Or has tire technology improved recently? I remember test driving a Porsche with aftermarket wheels and it felt like I was sitting on plywood.

Those original wheels were absolute trash. Nice upgrade, dude!

It’s very rare that people actually choose the smaller wheels with the intention of using them. Anyone who knows they want aftermarket wheels usually goes for the cheapest stock wheels available. They are intentionally bad—just think about how much Porsche makes from the $3k+ upgrades to 20s or 21s.

Now it looks amazing. Great job!
As long as she likes it, that’s what matters. It’s not really my style though.

To each their own.
Did you also wrap the car? It looks much better, or maybe it’s just the lighting.

No, it’s still the stock volcano grey metallic. The lighting just makes it appear darker.
