How did Hyundai transform its image from practical to cool over the years?
They took electric cars seriously, that’s for sure.
(Though, they really need to work on their security systems.)
They sold 100,000 Kona EVs globally in just over two years, which is quite an impressive production volume for a new model, in my opinion. They’ve been deliberately limiting the North American market, only providing inventory in CARB states, and even now, not all EV models are available in all 50 states. Additionally, they have a unified electrification certification program for technicians. This means that if a dealer sells hybrids, they can service a full EV even if they aren’t authorized to sell them. I have direct experience with this following an accident in my 2019 Ioniq.
