Drove my 2025 Ioniq 5 from Toronto to Montreal for the weekend. The hotel parked and charged it in underground parking. It’s been locked and on the charger since early Sunday. Now, as I’m checking out, the hotel valet went to get it, but the 12v battery is dead. The car is not responding to the key fob, and the doors are locked tight. I didn’t bring the physical key, just the fob. Super frustrating!
I could jump-start it if I could just open the door and pop the hood, but the car is basically a brick right now. What can I do here?
Hyundai roadside assistance is sending CAA to help. Will they be able to unlock it even without the physical key?

Doesn’t your fob have a physical key inside it somewhere?
Would be great if it did, but sadly, not for this model
Really? Ioniq 5 usually has a physical key hidden in the fob. I’ve used it multiple times! Press the button near where the key ring attaches, and the key part should come out.
Are you 100% sure? Usually, there’s a button on the back to pop out a key from the top. Could be different in the 2025, but would be strange if they changed that.
Do you use Bluelink? It could be a dead key fob battery. If so, you might be able to unlock it with Bluelink. Also, it’s odd that the 12V died while charging.

Quick question: do you have anything plugged into the OBD port, or maybe something monitoring the battery?
Yes! I remembered while driving back. I have a GO device from my company for testing purposes. It might have drained the battery. I unplugged it now and will give feedback to my team.
Usually, there’s a way to pop the hood without cabin access. You might want Hyundai to take care of it under warranty. If worse comes to worst, maybe contact corporate to ship it back to Toronto?
