hi enthusiasts, using a gas generator to charge an EV is inefficient and impractical. It’s much better to charge your EV from the power grid whenever possible.

First understand that The distance an electric vehicle (EV) can travel on one gallon of gas from a generator depends on several factors, including the efficiency of the generator and the EV itself.

To give you a general idea, let’s consider a small portable generator like the Honda EU2200i. This generator can produce about 6.06 kWh of electricity from one gallon of gas. Given that one gallon of gasoline has the energy equivalent of 33.7 kWh2, the generator’s efficiency is around 18%.
