These are the best mats I’ve ever owned. I don’t own an i4, but they’ve been nothing short of perfect in my vehicles.

Appreciated! But the look doesn’t work for me unfortunately.
After test driving a new 2024 model 3 dual motor as well as the i4, the i4 feels more solid, and a nicer interior but the Tesla offers better tech, self-driving, sound system, charging network etc… couldn’t justify the extra cost for the BMW. It doesn’t feel like a car that is 15-20k better at all IMO
@Darwin
It’s just an iPad, doesn’t feel like a car. They target two different segments of the market IMO

It just depends on what you want to do. If you only have the space for a single vehicle, a Tesla makes sense (despite its issues), since you can travel pretty much anywhere in the country with the Tesla supercharging network and CCS adapter. A BMW i4 makes more sense for a dual car household, where you have a secondary gas vehicle for longer trips. I’d say the new model 3 performance with the EV tax credit is better value than the normie BMW i4. But, the BMW i4 M50 is a better car than the model S long range, since at that $70k+ price point, you do expect more luxury in your car than pleather. Plus, the i4 M50 most likely handles way better than the S long range. Edit: weirdly enough, a BMW i4 M50 with the bigger wheels has much lower range than the S Long Range. So Tesla still makes more sense for owners who have only a single car, since the S long range is rated for 405 miles vs. the 220? or so miles on the i4 M50 with 20" wheels
I test drove an i50 m. A few things were massive deal breakers for me: The steering: the wheel diameter is massive and the ratio is way too much for a sporty car. Worse yet, even under normal city driving at normal traffic speeds, the only steering feel was the sidewalls scrubbing under the 5k lbs of weight. The powertrain: while powerful, BMW seems to have engineered back in to the powertrain vibrations. In a system that is fundamentally devoid of vibrations, why tf would you want to add that? It’s a nice cruiser I guess but it’s a dynamic turd. I’m sorry.
@Morgan
Wait a second. You’re saying that the wheels were actually rubbing the inside of the wheel well?

No. Maybe I’m using the wrong term here. But what I mean is that the mass of the car overwhelmed the sidewalls of the tire and I could feel the sidewalls flexing over through the steering.
@Morgan
Ah ok I see. I would have thought that they would be using tires specifically designed for EV’s.

I don’t recall what specific rubber was on the car (presumably factory spec since it was a new car). Most EV specific tires, to my knowledge, do tend to have stiffer sidewalls but the focus is usually on lower rolling resistance for range/efficiency. Lower resistance means less grip so these tires aren’t always a good choice for a sporty or performance EV.
@Morgan
‘A dynamic turd’ say a Tesla fanboy after driving a car for a few minutes?

Yeah man it’s pretty bad. Teslas aren’t great in standard form either. But a Model 3 doesn’t weigh 5k lbs nor is it Frankensteined together from a car that wasn’t designed to be an EV.
@Morgan
Unlike you, I didn’t waste time driving any of Elon’s plastic cars with an iPad. I wouldn’t consider a Tesla even if it was free.

That’s fine lol they’re far from perfect I have no problem acknowledging that. And Elon is a joke. Not trying to convince you otherwise. But honestly turning down any free car is dumb as fk kid.
@Morgan
Lol. I bought an $80k M50 when I could’ve bought 2 plastic iPad Model 3’s. Or are Taycan buyers even bigger dummies once they realize that they could’ve saved around 100k on a faster M3 Performance? I won’t expect more from a pea-sized brain Tesla fanboy who has a shrine of Elon Musk on his nightstand.
@Jamie
Ouch. 80k. I’m sorry. Maybe next time you’ll put down the internet Kool-Aid and make a sober and objective decision.

Haha. Go back to your full-time job of sniffing Elon’s underwear. Dummy.
