Could I be missing some items with my new EV6 GT?

I recently bought a 2024 EV6 GT from my local dealer. It appears it was driven by dealership staff for errands, accumulating about 2400 miles. I noticed the key for the locking lug nuts is missing. Are there other accessories I should check for? I found the tire mobility kit, owner’s manuals, and the V2L adapter. Should there also be a level 1 charger or a cargo cover for the rear area? What else could be missing?

You should definitely get the lug nut key from the dealership. It’s something they should have given you. If they don’t provide it for free, ask them to replace the locking lugs with standard ones. You can buy a locked set yourself for much less than the dealership charges. As for the luggage cover, it’s not included; you can find good quality ones on Amazon. The charger isn’t standard with the EV6. For energy monitoring and flexible charging options at home, consider an Emporia 48A kit with the Vue3. If you travel a lot, look into getting NACS to J1772 and NACS to CCS adapters to keep your options open.

In the US, the EV6 doesn’t come with a charging cable. The cargo cover and other similar accessories are extras you need to buy separately. Check your vehicle’s window sticker for a list of included accessories.

It’s surprising that an essential component like a charging cable isn’t included with the car.

Most people charge their cars at home or work, so I rarely use my charger. I would return it if I could.

@Corin
I use a 110v outlet in my garage and drive at least 46 miles daily. A Level 2 charger isn’t necessary for me.

Just like how cars running on gas require fuel that’s not included either.

While the EV6 comes with a V2L adapter, the Ioniq 5 includes a Level 1 charger. Most of us install a Level 2 charger for better efficiency. The choice of adapter allows you to get a high-quality product that fits your needs.

In Canada, particularly Quebec, a Level 1 charger is included, but not the V2L or cargo cover.

In Quebec, the GT Line2 comes with a Level 1 charger, cargo cover, and V2L included.

@Clair
I own a 2024 Ioniq 5 SEL without a Level 1 charge cable or cargo cover. The V2L was an optional ‘port’ addition, presenting a markup opportunity for Hyundai and Kia dealers.

I purchased a charger after getting the car but haven’t used it even once.

I’ve never needed the charging cable since my Juicebox came with one and all the chargers I’ve used already have one.

They include 1,000 kW of DCFC. It’s similar to how gas cars don’t come with a free gas can.

Definitely make sure you get the locking lug nut key. It’s better to have standard lug nuts; no one is likely to steal the wheels. Locking lug nuts are more of a hassle than they’re worth, especially if you lose the key or a shop forgets to return it. Thieves nowadays are more likely to steal the entire car than just the wheels.

@Casey
Why do you think no one would steal the wheels? Is it because of their specific design or something else?

The design of the wheels generally isn’t what thieves are after. More high-demand items like Hellcat wheels or premium aftermarket wheels are more attractive to thieves. Also, stealing wheels is time-consuming and risky. Most thieves prefer stealing the entire car. If someone does steal the wheels, that would be surprising.

@Casey
How do they manage to steal the whole car? Are cars not secured against such thefts?

Thieves use various methods like the Toyota CAN injection hack or tools that let them bypass security features quickly. Even high-end cars like Corvettes and Lamborghinis are at risk. Always enhance your car’s security to prevent theft.
