I’m looking into purchasing a used 2021 Taycan and would love to hear from current owners about their experiences. Are there any specific model years to avoid, or particular issues I should be aware of? What are some common annoyances, and are there any maintenance items that are particularly costly? Thanks for your insights!
Expect some recalls and minor issues, but overall, it’s a fantastic car without any major problems.

Porsche tends to issue recalls for even minor issues, it’s pretty thorough.
@Hadi
Are you implying that braking issues are minor?
My 2022 model was a lemon—amazing to drive but a headache with warranty claims and poor customer service. Definitely get a comprehensive warranty.
I love the car but dislike the fully digital console and the poor quality of the rear camera, which is unexpected in a car of this caliber. Still, the car overall is fantastic.

The standard rear camera has issues, but the surround and 360 cameras are fine.
@Lennon
Agreed, those cameras are much better.
Consider a certified pre-owned (CPO) lease.

How can you lease a CPO vehicle?

Just ask your dealer about leasing a CPO vehicle.

I didn’t see that option with Porsche Financial Services.
@Kirby
I’ve successfully leased two CPOs through PFS.

Can you share the terms? I’m interested in a similar deal.
I’ve driven 60k miles in my 2020 model. After an initial issue with the HV battery, which was replaced under warranty, the car has been superb. It’s stylish, performs excellently, and maintenance has been minimal.
@Peyton
You might find the Macan EV surprisingly similar in space to the Taycan, not much bigger.

I’ll check it out. We mainly use the Cayenne for family trips, so space in the Taycan has been adequate so far.
@Peyton
Isn’t the Taycan about the same size as the Cayenne? I thought the Macan was smaller.
It’s the best car I’ve owned despite some annoying software bugs and recalls. I wouldn’t own one without a warranty, though, given its pioneering technology.
I simply love it.
