Hello Everyone! Like many others, I’m thinking of trading in my Tesla Model Y for an i4 M50. I’ve found a dealer who has one available with a reasonable discount and a 0% interest rate for a lease. They’re even taking care of the remaining balance on my Tesla with a trade-in. The only color they have in stock is Black Sapphire Metallic. While there are more eye-catching colors, I’d like to hear your opinions on this one.
It’s a common color, black. Ultimately, you should choose the color you prefer.
It’s a nice color but tough to keep clean. I personally like black cars.

I used to have white cars, but now I own a tanzanite and a carbon black one. Dirt shows more easily, but I wash my cars weekly. A ceramic coating, a foam cannon, and an EGO leaf blower have made maintenance much easier.
Brooklyn Grey is also a great choice, very low maintenance. It doesn’t show dirt as much as black or white.
The Black Sapphire Metallic isn’t just a flat black. BMW’s colors are generally high-quality, including their metallic black. It’s a versatile choice. It could also complement or contrast the black plastic accents on the i4, like the faux grill and door trims.
Check what they mean by zero interest on a lease. That isn’t typically offered. The bank, not the dealer, usually sets the money factor and the residual value.
Just a heads up, darker colored cars like black are statistically more likely to be involved in accidents due to lower visibility compared to lighter colors.
Black Sapphire Metallic is beautiful but it does show dust and requires regular cleaning. I have a white M50 and it’s much more forgiving between washes. I originally wanted mineral white because alpine white can appear slightly yellow.
I own a black one. It reminds me of the batmobile. Plus, it’s cheaper than some other BMW colors.
I made the same switch, you’ll definitely enjoy the car. Color choice is personal, so go with what you prefer. I tend to like the classic colors like white, black, and grey.
I sold my Tesla and ordered a custom M50. Waiting for it was tough but worth it to get exactly what I wanted.

If you can keep your Tesla for another few months, I would recommend building and ordering your i4 to get it exactly as you want. It was a challenge to find the exact model we wanted within 200 miles.
Lucky you! My dealer won’t buy my Tesla, and I can’t find a buyer. How much will your lease be at the end? The i4 M50 sounds fantastic, and the black color is a solid choice. Any extra options included?

I’d say keep your Tesla. I’m not a fan of BMW.

In my view, Tesla is like the Chevy of electric vehicles.
A colleague has the i4 M50 in Black Sapphire Metallic and it looks quite impressive. It’s a personal preference, but I think it would look better without black wheels. It’s a challenge to keep clean, especially in hot climates as it heats up more when parked outside.
