Clocks change soon... Kia e-Niro users, time doesn't adjust on its own?

Hey, I’m in the UK, and I had to do this last week myself.
Go to:
SETUP
GENERAL
DATE/TIME
Uncheck the DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME box.

Just thought I’d share for others who might have the same issue .

Why can’t it just sync with the cell network? I mean, even old VCRs could do that with a local broadcast signal. Doesn’t seem like it would be a big ask.

Exactly, it’s really simple. The car has a calendar and already syncs time, so it could easily adjust by just correcting the hour twice a year.

@Fallon
But the date for changing clocks actually got moved back in 2005. That’s the issue here.

My car is a 2021 model…they could let us adjust the dates ourselves if they can’t sync it. It’s silly that it needs manual input, especially for cars sold in regions where DST dates are fixed.

My last car switched automatically, but it missed the date update too, so it was off for a couple of weeks every year.

Yep, in Ukraine we also change the time. I thought my 2022 Kia E-Soul would do it automatically, but nope, manual change for us too.

Same here! I was even about to post about it. My 1999 Opel Astra updated itself, but this much newer car can’t do the same?

Unbelievable, right?
The e-Niro has all kinds of fancy tech - ACC, LKAS, Apple Car, Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, USB, wireless charging, and it can be controlled remotely through an app.

But the clock? Nah, it can’t update automatically like my old Opel Astra could!

I’m in Ireland and had to do the same with my 2023 Ioniq 5.

Mine’s a hassle. Ever since I got it two and a half years ago, I’ve fought with the time change. No matter if I tick or untick the ‘Daylight Saving Time’ box, it won’t stay. I adjust it, it reverts on its own, back and forth, for a couple of months until it finally sticks.

Are you sure someone’s not messing with the settings, like your partner or kids?

Haha, nope! I’m the only driver. It’s been doing this since I bought it, and it’s pretty annoying.

Rented a 2024 Niro this weekend, had to change the time myself yesterday morning.

Some states in the US don’t use DST. Sure, GPS could handle that, but it could still be annoying if you live near a state with different DST rules. I don’t mind the manual switch, but I get why others want it to be automatic.

I’m in Saskatchewan, like Nevada, and we don’t mess with clocks. Not sure why any place still does this in North America.

I’m in MST and didn’t have to change a thing with my 2024 Niro. It adjusted on its own.

Yep, it’s a minor issue, but even the cheapest phones adjust automatically through the network signal, and DAB also sends a time signal. Great car, but I don’t get why something so simple isn’t covered.

So, how do we change it manually?
