Has anyone else noticed their charging speed dropping to around 7kW after 80%? I used to get speeds between 60-100kW even after hitting 80%, but now it seems to slow down at almost every fast charger in my area. Is this normal or something new?
I usually see it drop to 7kW around 82%, or sometimes at 91%.

Yep, just gotta wait it out—if no one else is waiting to charge, of course. I’m not an animal!

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too… It’s annoying, especially when people leave their cars at the charger for ages while they shop. That’s the worst!

I only see that slow speed around 97%. Before that, I usually get 30-100kW.

This is a feature. You’re kind of a jerk if you stay at a fast charger past 80%.

I’m only there for like 25 minutes to get to 85%, not an hour!

Charge to 80% and move on. The charger is slowing down to reduce congestion.

It’s strange because I used to get 60-100kW speeds after 80%, and I still do at some stations. It’s not like this is the way it’s always been, at least not for me.

Yeah, I’ve seen it both ways with my Ioniq 6. It’s hard to say for sure what’s causing it.
Exactly. Unless we’re the engineers, it’s hard to say what’s going on for sure!
