Does anyone know of a website where you can compare charging curves for different vehicles? I am looking for a tool that lets you pick the cars you want and instantly see their charging curves overlaid on top of each other.
Hey there, I haven’t found a one-stop shop for comparing charging curves yet, but that would be super handy. There are resources though. Check out articles from EV charging companies or tech blogs. They sometimes compare curves for popular models. In the meantime, manufacturer websites often have charging info for their cars. It might take some digging, but the knowledge is out there
Visit https://support.fastned.nl/hc/en-gb/categories/4428895407133-Fastned-charging ; if you select any brand, the charging curve for each vehicle for which they have data will be displayed.
For comparing charging curves of different electric vehicles, a useful tool is the “EV Charging Curve Comparison” feature on EV Database (ev-database.org). This website allows you to select specific electric vehicle models and visually compare their charging curves. It provides detailed information about charging speeds at different battery percentages, helping you understand how long it takes to charge different EVs to various ranges. This tool is handy for evaluating charging performance across different models and making informed decisions based on your charging needs and preferences.
The problem with this graph is the x-axis is misleading for what most people want. Unless you know the details of each vehicle SOC percentage is just a magical factor. It’s like saying my car can drive for 6 hours on a tank of gas.
The x-axis needs to be real-world range or time, that is what matters and what you want to know.
