I set a hand gesture to quickly turn on the recirculated air when something smells outside. Open hand, then close it, then open again. Maybe give that a try?

Haha, I’ve got my hand gesture set to turn off the screen, but I’ll check it out.

It doesn’t let me assign that as a gesture—only options I see are turning off the screen, muting, or adaptive content.
@Keaton
Go into the climate menu on the left and click “AUTO.” A smaller menu should pop up showing driver and passenger settings. Hold your finger on “driver” to assign it to a shortcut or gesture. You can do the same with the auto air recirculation settings.

There are only a few times when you shouldn’t have recirculation on, so maybe keep it on most of the time.

I just bought mine a few days ago, and it’s been fantastic so far. But I agree with you on the backseat—definitely feels a little too upright.
Yeah, after hearing about it, I sat back there myself, and it really isn’t as comfortable as I thought it would be.
@Keaton
Try sitting like you’re in a corner booth at a restaurant. The door panels flow into the backseat design, so it might feel more comfortable if you sit at an angle. Just a thought. Hope it helps, and happy driving!

The lack of reclining might have something to do with the solid cargo cover they use. I wish they’d make both of those adjustable.
I had a 2023 X5 before switching to the BMW iX, and honestly, the black 22-inch wheels on the X5 were way more annoying to clean. With the iX, there’s less brake dust, so I can go two weeks without cleaning. On the X5, they’d be filthy after one day.
