I’ve been struggling to unlock my Tesla 3 using both my phone and the card key. The car’s fully charged, but I can’t open the charge port or boot either. This started right before a trip about seven weeks ago, so I left the car unattended during that time. Now that I’m back, nothing’s working. No error messages or anything on the app. Do you think restarting my phone could fix it?
I’ve had something similar happen. Did you try rebooting the car’s system itself? Sometimes it just needs a quick reset.

How do you even reboot the car? I’ve only ever restarted my phone lol.
@Kip
Oh, you just hold down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen goes black. It reboots the system.
I had to contact Tesla when my card key stopped working. They did something remotely and it worked fine after that. You might want to try calling them.

Yeah, Tesla support has bailed me out a few times. They’re pretty quick with these things.
Do you leave your phone’s Bluetooth on all the time? If it’s off, your phone won’t unlock the car.

Bluetooth’s definitely on. It’s weird because everything worked fine before I left for the trip.
@Noe
Maybe the car’s just being fussy after sitting for a while. A full reboot should help.
I had a similar issue after a long trip. I ended up resetting the phone app, and that seemed to fix it. Worth a shot?

I’ll try resetting the app too, thanks! Hopefully that does the trick.
Sometimes these things just need a hard reset. Try both the phone and the car. And maybe ask Tesla if they can push a fix remotely?

Good call, I’ll reach out to Tesla if all else fails. Thanks for the suggestion!
