Just picked up my first brand-new car and couldn’t wait to share. The lease deals right now are great, so I finally went for it. It only had 15 miles on it when I got it, and now it’s already at 300. So many features to figure out, but I love it so far.
A couple of small complaints: no wireless CarPlay, no heated steering wheel, and not much headroom for tall people (the sunroof takes some of the space, but I do like having it). The biggest downside is the lack of a heat pump in the RWD model, but I wanted the longer range and the lower price (about $7000 cheaper than the AWD).
Overall, it’s a huge upgrade from my old 2014 Nissan Leaf, which barely managed 40 miles per charge by the end. I’m thrilled with the change .
The lease deals truly are something right now, so I finally went for it. Drove off the lot with only 15 miles on it, already up to around 300 from just driving it around. Still figuring out how everything works and all the settings, but I love it!
Only things I’m not thrilled about: no wireless CarPlay, no heated steering wheel, and limited headroom for tall folks. The big miss is the lack of a heat pump in the RWD models, but I wanted the longer range and lower price. Not like I’m doing road trips constantly, though. If I were buying instead of leasing, I might have gone for AWD.
Anyone else with the same car? Would love to hear your thoughts .

If you live somewhere cold, the real-world range difference between RWD and AWD isn’t too big. Either way, it’s a great car. Congrats!
I live in Portland, so winters are pretty mild. It’s usually in the 30s or 40s. Probably the worst climate to not have a heat pump in, though, haha.
@Tegan
The AWD versions of the GT-Line and Wind trims have a heated steering wheel. I feel the same about the heat pump though. I also have a GT-Line RWD .
@Tegan
Welcome to the EV6 family! I have the Gravity Blue one and love it. For wireless CarPlay, I got a gadget from Amazon (Lojusimeh). It connects quickly and works perfectly. It’s under $50.
I also have the Light RWD, with about 240 miles of range. I only charge it overnight on a Level 1 charger every 5–7 days. I think my car has a heat pump, but since I live in California, I rarely need it.
@Marlowe
A heat pump is different from battery preconditioning. A heat pump acts like a reversible air conditioner and is much more efficient than standard electric heating.

Thanks for explaining that. I didn’t realise the difference.
@Tegan
You could’ve gone for the AWD model and switched to 19" wheels to close the range gap. Might not work for a lease, though. The Wind AWD would’ve also given you a heat pump and heated steering wheel.
@Ben
I wanted features that the Wind didn’t have, like safety extras, a 360-degree parking camera, and ventilated seats. Plus, I like the garage door opener built in.

The Wind with Tech trim has all that, including ventilated seats and the 360 camera. I retrofitted the garage opener with a mirror from a 2021 Santa Fe. Still, the GT-Line does have better door handles and a HUD, so it’s a solid choice.
I’ve got the same car and trim in Snow White Pearl, and I love it. The range is incredible—I usually get between 360 and 385 miles on a full charge. Hoping to hit the 400+ club someday. I drive mostly in the city and use auto mode. I’m old-school and don’t like i-Pedal.
