Got hit by the ICCU failure today. Car completely shut down while I was driving. No power, no response, nothing. Had to roll to a stop and keep my foot on the brake to stop it from rolling backward.
It’s at the dealer now. Hoping they can sort it out quickly. This is frustrating.
Mine has been sitting at the dealer for 28 days. I’m in WA state, and if it hits 30 days, I can push for a buyback under the Lemon Law. I love this car, but this whole situation is unacceptable.

The parts situation is bad. My dealer told me the ICCU is on national backorder (USA). My car has been stuck at the shop since January 24th.
My 2013 Rio has been at the dealer since June 19, 2024. They broke a part because they didn’t follow the right procedure, and now they say they can’t get a replacement. I don’t want to get lawyers involved because of the car’s age, but after this, I’ll never buy a Kia again.
Adding my story here… my ICCU failed two months ago, with only 2,000 miles on the odometer. Yes, two thousand. Brand new 2024 GT.
Luckily, my dealership is solid. They replaced the ICCU, the 12V battery, and a couple of other things. No issues since.
But still… 2,000 miles? This feels like a ‘when’ not ‘if’ kind of problem. My last car was a 2019 Stinger, which got hit with the whole Kia Boys situation, so I switched to this thinking it would be better. And now this.
Still not completely done with Kia, but they really need to step up and fix this for good.
@Weston
Hope it holds up, but just so you know, they’re putting in the same ICCU that failed in the first place. Some people have already had their replacements fail too. They know what’s wrong with it but aren’t fixing the actual issue.
Kia has sold about 96,000 EV6 worldwide, and if this affects 1%, they should be able to get 960 replacement ICCUs, right? But here we are, with people waiting months.
