A Sad Day Indeeed!

@NomadNerd
It doesn’t charge the traction battery. Just helps with 12V battery issues.

@NomadNerd
I picked up a Noco for mine for that exact reason: NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000 Amp 12-Volt UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter Box, Car Battery Booster Pack, Portable Power Bank Charger, and Jumper Cables for up to 6-Liter Gasoline and 3-Liter Diesel Engines, Jump Starters - Amazon Canada

@NomadNerd
newbie here, just got my car a week ago - I have this one somewhere around my house, it should work fine, right? (just in case I need it) https://a.co/d/8J3C3Gq

Yes. It looks like somebody white-labelled these as I have the same design with different colors and branding.

That sucks OP sorry to hear that. Luckily the driver knows how to tow it properly. I had mine die due to seized rear brakes in a tight city parking garage and had to drag it out of the garage with rear wheels locked. Good luck

Your situation looks familiar with mione. In my case a deer decided to share the same space and time of the road with me.

@Finlo
We almost hit a deer over the weekend, but even more exciting than that was the near miss with an oncoming police chase suspect! Best of luck with your repairs!

@Finlo
Hey, count me in too! I got stuck in the park while grabbing lunch, and it’s been about two weeks now, and they still can’t figure out what’s wrong.

I had mine for just shy of two years when the ICCU failed on the freeway in Vegas I was 700+ miles from home on a road trip AND the CDK cyber attack was happening. Was without a car for two months and Hyundai never even gave me a rental. Totally sucked, only thing I dislike about the car

@Jai
I would ask for reimbursement of the car rental. They were supposed to provide you with a loaner or rental for the recalls.

I tried since my car was stuck at a dealership in Utah instead of my state, they couldn’t give me a rental. Utah said that since I don’t live there, they couldn’t give a rental, and MY home dealership said that since they weren’t working on my car, they couldn’t give me a rental. This was also when all of the dealerships had the cyber attack and so all of the systems were down. I went back and forth for 2 months with Hyundai corporate and the best they could do was pay for two months of my car payment so I gave up.

Sorry to hear this. I was looking at buying a used SEL or Limited 2022-2024 with less than 20k miles for under $27k. Seeing this is making me really question if that is wise…

Not every car has this problem. I’d also really push hard to get the 2022 under $25,000 to potentially be eligible for the $4,000 used EV credit. 2023 won’t be eligible until the 2025s are out.

Newbie question. Is this failure a matter of when not if? Is it a problem with all 5’s?

i have a 2024 that has had all its updates done, recalls done, and its been fine. now 17.7K miles.

Never tow an electric car needs flatbed.

@Harper
Understood thanks. Went through something similar with the alternator on an audi with the mild hybrid system. That was a matter of when…

60k and no problems so far (other than replacing the 12v battery)

Oh no! That sucks!

Yes, but if you look closely, there are wheels under his wheels
