Is your rear defrost effective?

It works well for frost and even in rain.

Mine’s not great, but it does the job. Good to know.

Anyone saying a rear window wiper on the Ioniq 5 isn’t needed really doesn’t get it.

Don’t forget about using your side mirrors.

Side mirrors help, but I need to see clearly through the back window when reversing or checking for pedestrians.

It’s for parked cars, not driving. Just brush it off before you set off.

Try doing that at 80km/h on the highway. It was an oversight not to include it.

A rear wiper would help in various situations, like wet, dirty roads, even if it wouldn’t do much in this scenario.

Knowing how to use your car properly is key, not whether it has a wiper or not.

Everyone has their opinion, even if it might seem off base to others.

@Cort
Buying a car without a rear wiper and then complaining about it seems off to me.

Wrong. I did a test drive and saw the issue within minutes. I chose not to buy.

Some cars don’t even have rear windshields, but no one complains about those.

That’s unusual, don’t usually see that much snow build-up while driving. Must have been heavy snowfall.

Looks like a glitch in a video game.

Pull over and clean it with a snow brush. Always keep one in the back during winter.

Does anyone else have trouble with their rear defrost? My car ends up like this during storms and I’m not sure if it’s the defrost or just how it accumulates snow.

The auto wipers also act up. They fail when needed and randomly activate on dry days. I think I need to have it checked since it’s only been 3 months.

Where are you from, and how does the Ioniq handle in the snow?

Do you have all-wheel drive?

I kind of miss the snow… I’m in Vegas now.

I’m in Finland. It’s pretty good on snow, skids a bit in tight turns but no issues on bigger roads. I have studless winter tires (Continental Viking Contact).

Everything reminds me of her

The glow of the tail lights under the snow looks quite cool.
