Last night, I drove through some heavy snowfall. The roads hadn’t been plowed, so I had to significantly reduce my speed due to the poor road conditions and low visibility. Despite this, the car handled beautifully in the snow. However, it did accumulate a comically thick layer of snow on the tail, and the weight was so much that the liftgate couldn’t stay up.

I thought it was the Pringles guy. Looks a bit spooky and hungover, doesn’t it?
Only if they’re the really attractive ones. I’d definitely join them then haha
@Adi
Kind of reminds me of spurdo spärde

I see a poro blushing

IT’S PIKACHU!
Maybe try the rear window heater?
Looks like the airflow on the back end gets everything stuck there. The design must be playing a role here.

Exactly, especially around the lower corners at the back.

Is there a spoiler that could help with this?
That might also mean more drag, though.
The ideal is air breaking cleanly off the vehicle. Past models used spoilers to keep rear glass clear, but they mess with aerodynamics.
Good thing you have that rear wip… oh, wait never mind.

Every time I see a Kia, they’ve got a rear wiper
Rally armor flaps help a lot with this. Big square ones. And yes, using your defroster is a good move.
With the mudflaps, there’s a lot less build-up.
Anyone saying a rear window wiper on the Ioniq 5 isn’t needed really doesn’t get it.

The rear defroster is meant to handle this.
A rear wiper wouldn’t be as effective without using it.
@Bennie
First winter with my car and turning on the rear defrost has become routine. When I arrive, I clean the window with a squeegee, works like a charm.
@Bennie
Is your rear defrost effective?
