I’m going to check out the EV6 today, but my dealer isn’t giving me much info about 2025 model availability or pre-order timelines. Anyone know what’s going on? Or is it just as vague as the dealer claims? (I’m guessing they want me to go for a 2024 instead.)
If they follow past years, we might see the 2025 models at dealerships around mid to late November. Personally, I’d hold out for the 2025 model—it’s got the new CCNC system and the NACS port, plus a slightly bigger battery, which all sound like solid improvements.
@Luca
So what’s the benefit of a native NACS port compared to the adapter setup? Faster charging or something? I know the Tesla fast chargers will be available for Kia soon, but wouldn’t we need an adapter for EA chargers?
@Nico
Eventually, we should see more NACS plugs at other chargers, but it’ll take time. I expect some EA chargers to have a mix of CCS and NACS ports in the future. For now, though, I’d stick with EA and Evgo for faster speeds while Tesla sorts out its 400v/800v setup.
@Luca
So in the short term, it doesn’t really matter if you have a NACS port or not. If you’ve got a 2022-2024, the adapter works for Tesla, and with NACS, you’d still need an adapter for EA. Either way, you’re probably carrying an adapter.
@Nico
True! For me, the bigger battery and the CCNC system are more interesting.

Yeah, the bigger battery is definitely nice, and the CCNC system seems a lot more user-friendly. If you add a Tbox or something similar, the current system is manageable, but the upgrade looks better.
No one seems to know for sure, and anyone who says they do is just guessing. It might be sometime between fall and late winter, but winter’s probably more realistic.
I doubt the dealer knows for sure, but don’t ignore the 2024 model—it’s not very different, and you’ll likely get a better deal. Though, personally, I think the front end of the 2025 looks awful.

To each their own—I actually like the new look better than the old one.
Right now’s a good time to buy because dealers are eager to move the 2024 models. I bought mine last weekend and got a good deal. If you really want the 2025, just hang on another month or two.

What kind of deal did you get? I’m in the market too.
@Channing
GT-Line AWD here. Got a 36-month lease for $498/month with 12k miles per year, all taxes and fees included. I just paid the first month at signing, no down payment.
I heard the 2025 EV6 will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show in late November. This info came from a YouTube comment on one of Car Scene Korea’s videos about the 2025 model. That’s only about a month away, so we should know more soon, and ordering might open then too.
The 2024 models are a great deal right now.
I saw a $14,000 Manufacturer Offer Special Program from Kia Finance America for 36-month leases on the 2024 EV6 Wind trim. Is this common, or could there be better deals?
Also, I’m coming from a Tesla Model 3. If I go for a 2025 with NACS, can I use my current garage charger, or would I need a replacement? And would I need an adapter for a 2024 with CCS?
@Thayer
Actually, for AC charging, it’s usually called J1772 rather than CCS. And yes, NACS is compatible with J1772 through an adapter.
Watch for incentives and dealer discounts to clear out 2024 models, especially if the 2025 features aren’t a must-have for you. I think the battery and infotainment updates in the 2025 are worth it, but NACS is mostly a resale plus. The 2024 stock will likely move fast once the 2025s arrive.
Looking at an EV6 lease, and wow, the prices are something else!

I got $15,500 off on my lease for a 2024 EV6 GT.
