I’m looking for a car for my mom and found a local dealer with several 2023 Ioniq 6 models still in stock. They’re offering $7,500 from Hyundai, $7,500 manager’s discount, and an additional $2,000 from the state. It seems like a solid deal, but I’m a bit concerned about the car sitting for so long, especially the battery.
For those buying now, does this sound like a fair price, or is there a chance I could do better?
I bought one and love it! Anything around $40k plus tax is a good deal. Don’t stress about the battery—it’s under warranty. If you want an SUV, go for the Ioniq 5. If you like the Batmobile look, stick with the Ioniq 6. They’re both amazing cars.

You probably won’t find it much cheaper. I just bought a 2025 SEL with a $14k discount, so the deals are out there even for newer models.
Besides the $7,500 from Hyundai, what other discounts did you get?
Actually, it was $14,500 off. $7,500 from Hyundai and $7,000 from the dealer. We don’t have state incentives here, so your deal is about the same as mine, with your state helping more.

Are you talking about Hyundai of Columbia, TN? Their prices are so much lower I’ve been tempted to fly into Nashville to get one!

Yep, that’s the one! It’s a two-hour drive for me, but they were great. We had a terrible experience at five other dealerships, but Columbia was a breeze. Damien was our salesperson, and he actually knew his stuff! Plus, they gave us a full matte paint wash kit with a car wash bucket, Dr. Beasley’s cleaners, and microfiber towels.
If the car sits for a week, it will only lose about 3% charge. Just don’t let it sit at 20%, or the main battery won’t charge the 12v battery. Other than that, you’re good!

From what I’ve heard, the 2023 and 2024 models are basically the same. The battery health is worth asking about, though. You should ask the dealer what they’ve done to maintain the battery, just to be safe.
I can’t say for sure if the price is the best, but $17k off sounds pretty solid.

There’s no difference between the 2023 and 2024 models. They’re the same car, just different model years. The 2023 Ioniq 6 didn’t even start selling in the U.S. until mid-2023, so there’s not much time between them.
As long as the dealer kept the battery at a decent level, and since it’s under warranty, you should be fine. I paid $45,000 for my 2024 Limited AWD, so you’re getting a better price than I did!

Is that price before or after taxes?
You might be able to push the dealer a bit, especially toward the end of the month. I got a 2024 AWD SEL for around $36k before tax. MSRP was around $50k, with $7,500 from Hyundai and the rest from the dealer. With the 2025 models coming out, you might be able to get a little more off. Still, it’s a great deal, and I wouldn’t worry about the battery yet, but you could ask for a battery health report in case you can’t get any more discounts.

I got a $1,500 dealer discount on a 2024 SE AWD. They acted like it was employee pricing, and another dealer didn’t even want to match it. So, you getting $6,000 off for a year-old model sounds reasonable. Just make sure to check the battery’s health.

I got a 2023 SEL RWD for $31,000. Sticker price was $49,500.

That’s a good discount, but why not try to round it up to $20,000 off? Worth asking! Also, check when the warranties start—if you’ve lost a year or two, that could be a dealbreaker.

Since it’s a 2023, I’d expect them to lower the price a bit more.

Wow, $17k off just to get rid of them? That’s wild.
