This topic might sound familiar, but every time I reverse my car, I’m reminded of the incredibly poor quality of the reverse camera. It feels like they remembered it last minute before launch and just slapped in the cheapest option available.
Could it just be dirty? Maybe try cleaning it with a spray

Cleaning it doesn’t really help much. Even if you manage to get it spotless, it’s not long before it’s dirty again, and it still won’t look good.
@Jai
Exactly, even when clean, it’s the worst reversing camera I’ve had across multiple cars. At night, it’s basically useless.

So true.
@Jai
Well, I have the 360 camera, which is supposed to be better. It’s not perfect, especially compared to others like BMW, but I find it manageable.

I just focus on the 360 view on the left screen, and it works okay for me. It takes a bit to get used to, but it’s not too bad.
It’s a disaster. Even my wife’s Q3, which cost a fraction of what I paid, has a far superior camera.

I’ve driven brands like Mazda and Honda, and they both had better cameras. They offer wide-angle views that help with blind spots and have dynamic guidance lines.
The 360 view is awful too. BMW’s system makes Porsche’s attempt look embarrassing.

Agree, I have the 360 and it’s the worst backup camera system I’ve used.

Even my 2019 Audi had better cameras. It’s bizarre how a car brand known for quality would skimp on such a basic feature.
While it’s a common complaint, I’ve never had a problem. Keeping it clean is your job, using it safely for reversing is your job as well. It does its job to show you orientation to your surroundings, it’s not meant to be a flight navigation system.
It’s like the one on my 300! Sorry to hear that.
The Macan EV isn’t any better. It’s shocking to see both the Taycan and the Macan suffer from the same issue.

I had a 2015 Macan before my Taycan and the Taycan’s camera is somehow even worse.
It’s consistent across the Porsche lineup. Even a $300k 911 has the same camera, and the GT3 doesn’t even come with front parking sensors. I’ve managed to keep my Taycan scratch-free, unlike my Tesla Model 3, despite its superior cameras. If you’re really focused on the camera quality, Porsche might not be for you, but I agree, they need to improve.
Does anyone else hate the fish eye lens? It’s overly dramatic and makes you think you’re going to hit something when you’re actually clear. It’s a common complaint and could be fixed with a software update, but they haven’t done it yet.
It’s the worst I’ve seen. My Lexus was bad, but this makes my Integra Type S camera look futuristic by comparison.
It’s awful. My girlfriend’s Kia has a better backup camera.
