I noticed on the new 2025 webpage the AWD SE/SEL have a range of 290 miles per charge, whereas the Limited has an AWD range of 269 miles per charge. Does anyone know why this discrepancy exists?
Also, is it generally a bad idea to get a RWD car in a place where you experience all four seasons? The range is much better on the RWD limited, but how safe is it in snow and ice in the mid-Atlantic USA?
The Limited AWD is heavier than the SE AWD and comes with larger wheels, which might explain the reduced range. The extra weight and wheel size are likely culprits for the noticeable decrease in range.
@Darian
It’s not just the size of the wheels, but also their width that affects aerodynamics and rolling resistance, contributing to reduced efficiency.

What else besides the larger wheels contributes to the increased weight in the Limited model?
The Limited model includes additional features like a vision roof, heavier seats, and various small motors and sensors that all add weight. These features enhance comfort and convenience but also contribute to the overall weight increase.
@Darian
All those features make the Limited AWD worth it for me. The slight reduction in range is a small price to pay for the added comfort and capabilities.

Does using Eco mode help regain some of the lost range by mainly using the rear motor?
@Zhi
Yes, Eco mode optimizes energy use by primarily engaging the rear motor, which helps improve efficiency and extend range under certain conditions.
