I miss my Thule Aerobar rack I had on Mazda 3. It was fantastic. BUT, that car came with rail bolt points to mount the thing. How does the Y handle mounting a roof rack? I legit haven’t a clue.
Ignore the naysayers. Get any rack that mounts well and is wing shaped, from a proper brand. I’d prioritize the mounting bit, those 90’s frame claws were awful. And don’t worry about mileage unless you’re maxing your range constantly.
Wish I could offer more, but now I want to research a roof rack for my Y. I use a hitch bike rack, but would love the flexibility of a roof rack periodically (surf, sup, wood, whatever).
