Would it be worthwhile to upgrade to a 40A L2 charger if I were seeking to buy one on Amazon instead of a 32A? Is it possible for the Niro to accept more than 32? If it is any assistance, I have a 2023 Niro EV Premium Plus.
I purchased an L2 ChargePoint home charger from a local Kia dealership, and it takes approximately 9 hours to charge my 2023 Niro EV Wave.
On Amazon, I purchased the Grizzl-E Classic EVSE. It can go up to 40 (my service can’t handle more, so mine is down graded to 32). Since I took control of it four months ago, it has performed admirably.
Yes it will be worthwhile. The higher the amperage, the faster your vehicle can charge. A 40A charger can potentially reduce the charging time compared to a 32A charger.
In my opinion, it is. Investing in a higher-capacity charger now might save you from needing an upgrade in the future if you purchase another EV with a higher onboard charger capacity.
I have a ChargePoint charger on a 40-amp breaker, and it works very well. I’m very happy with it. I get a 7.2 kW charging speed. It’s sturdy and reliable. While the charger is a bit pricey, my utility company required a smart charger to qualify for reduced off-peak electricity rates, which I take advantage of with scheduled charging.
Hello, Olivia Brown. I’ve had an Emporia for about two years now. Works excellent! They also provide excellent customer assistance.
