It adjusts the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) based on changes in the speed limit.
The blue squares show the distance the car will keep from the one in front. You can set it to 1 to 4 squares, depending on how far you want to stay behind.
It also uses the map and GPS to slow the car down for tighter turns on highways. It’s a nice feature, but sometimes too aggressive.

Yeah, it’s too aggressive for me sometimes. I recently drove from California to Seattle, and the car kept slowing down to 50 mph on curves that I could easily take at 60-65 mph. I ended up turning off the cruise control.

I feel the same way. Sometimes I have to step on the gas to keep it from slowing down too much.
I love using Highway Drive Assist. It works really well, even on roads with lots of curves.
