We've decided to go for the Kia EV6 . We are seeking for your advice on Trim, Packages, and Discounts

We just spent a full day test-driving the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and similar EVs. Finally, we have decided on the EV6. We are now torn between the Wind and GT-Line trims and would love some input from the community on what trim and package options are worth it.

We currently reside in Texas, so if there are any specific considerations for this region, that would be super helpful to know you can tell us and we would appreciate it.

In my opinion, Wind AWD with Tech package will be the best value. If you are taller than 6’, this will be the best option because the sunroof eats up 1.5 inches of headroom.

In addition, the GT line’s automatically extending door handles are almost worth the difference in cost on their own though and the GT line does look cooler. Make sure to sit in both trims as seat comfort may be a personal preference.

Nice point, to spice it up, I am 6’3" and I am in the Gt-Line, and the headroom program is not actually an issue for me.

I will advise you to go for Wind AWD with a technology package. It is the best because it balances the soft spot between luxury and value.

The Wind doesn’t have a sunroof but you may miss door handle auto pop-up and other differences. In my suggestion, Wind AWD with no sunroof is perfect. Also, you will have more headroom.

For me, the AWD upgrade is a must. I wouldn’t even for a minute consider the RWD.

I have a GT line and I can say without a lie that it is noiseeee, but for a few thousand would enjoy value with the AWD Wind with Tech. In addition, would get Auto door handles, a sunroof, a meridian sound system, and the aesthetic are the big differences.

I at most times like the look a lot more of the GT line. For my kids, the door handles are almost a must. The sound system is very very nice, but I could live without it. I use the sunroof more than I thought I would.

To conclude, the extra money was worth it. But this was my first new car in 15 years, and we dropped from two kids in daycare to one, so I spoiled myself a bit and don’t regret it at all.

I own a 22 GT line RWD. Unless you’re trying to drag race acceleration is still fantastic, significantly better gas mileage and in Texas you’re unlikely to need AWD for snow.

I love the HUD even without using the Kia navigation the front looks good and the ambient lighting looks great. I am 6’4 and I am probably the max height you can do in the GT line and finally, I had to remove the oh shit handle.

If you are a speed lover, the GT, not the GT line is insane for its performance. We showed a Hellcat dust just the other day like it was nothing. It is so much fun, but you take a big hit on the mileage. It has plenty of miles still, and we don’t have range anxieties.

Try to find a used one and you will enjoy the thrill.

The 2025 EV6 model has a lot of great upgrades including a bigger battery, upgraded infotainment system hardware, and rear window wiper. I am guessing 24s will be heavily discounted when 25s start rolling out therefore the choice is yours to make.
