Hey folks,
I’m trying to figure out how to stop the auto-reload feature on my ChargePoint account. It’s been reloading more than I need, and I’d prefer to manage it manually. Any tips on how to do this?
Appreciate your help!

You can switch to Apple/Google Pay and pay a $1 fee plus the rate of the station on every charge. The digital wallet is cheaper (the $1 session fees - which cover the transaction costs - add up fast). I routinely hit $100/mo in pubic charging over the summer so the final $60-70 reload it does lasts me all winter and into spring, where the first few re-ups will be $20 or so and then it picks back up.
I was also taken aback by this the first time, but this is exactly how EZ Pass and other parking systems work. A devil you live with. It’s not like I won’t use the money… and if you’re truly unhappy you can request the account be moved back to a free account and have them send you a check for the account balance.
These are in my workplace. It seems to do this based on how quickly your balance is depleted. As a result, it sets the reload amount higher so you do if the balance is $20 or less and you use it all in two days. not reach the balancing threshold as quickly.
I tried to switch off auto-renewal, but they wouldn’t do it. Shady thieves and jerks.
