Yeah, it’s a rental—try sitting in a new one to see if there’s a difference.

Never had an issue with rentals before, and this one only had 14K miles. But yeah, maybe someone really gave it a rough go. I’ll try a different one at a dealership.

Yeah, sounds like that rental was pretty beat up. Our 2023 SEL with 21K miles is super comfortable and gets positive comments from everyone.
I drove a Limited trim with almost no miles on it, and the seats felt firm with good support. Haven’t had any issues across several test drives with different trims.
I’m about the same size as you, and I need to adjust the seat perfectly to be comfortable. I wish I had gone for the Limited trim for the memory seat feature!
When I test-drove one, it took some time to adjust the seat to find a comfortable spot. I eventually settled on something, but I feel like there’s room for improvement.
I’m a bigger person in both height and width, and I find the seats comfortable. It’s my fifth Hyundai/Kia, and while I noticed some eco-friendly materials feel a bit different, they’re still quite supportive.
I actually bought the SE specifically because I prefer the fabric seats over the leather. Best seats I’ve had in any car!
I came from a luxury SUV, so the Ioniq seats felt like a downgrade at first. But after experimenting with adjustments, they’re now perfectly comfortable. Sometimes it takes time to get used to different ergonomics.
Maybe try the seats in the Limited trim? I came from a Mercedes and Tesla and liked them. My partner thought they felt like driving a bus though.
I have the same trim, and the seats are super comfortable. Ten months and 16K miles in, and I’m still happy with it.

Good to hear! Everyone’s got their preferences, but I’m definitely going to give it another shot.
Thanks, everyone, for the responses and suggestions! Seems like I might’ve just had bad luck with that rental. I’ll definitely go to the dealer to test another Ioniq5 before making a decision. Appreciate all the insights!

Where did you manage to rent an Ioniq5? I’ve been trying to find one!

Got it from Avis in Denver. It was advertised as a Mustang Mach-E, but when I got there, I asked if they had an Ioniq5, and they did! Might be worth calling ahead to see if they have one available.
Apart from the Limited trim’s faux leather and ventilation features, all Ioniq5 seats are pretty similar. Limited also has extra seat adjustments, but some folks say the lumbar support doesn’t hold as well over time.
