Thinking of Selling Your Taycan … What Comes Next?

I’ve only logged 7k miles on my 2023 Taycan Turbo. I love it and don’t plan to trade it anytime soon. But I’m curious about others’ plans. A friend of mine switched his for a McLaren and got a hefty tax bill. Anyone else considering their next move?

I’d stick with the Taycan if it was still around. But if not, maybe an E-tron GT or a Lucid Air. If I changed, it’d be for something like more space or flashiness. Maybe a 911 or a Roma for those vibes, but for everyday use, it’s the Taycan.

Absolutely love my 2022 Taycan.

@Koa
We definitely share the same taste in cars!

@Koa
You didn’t really answer the question but good points nonetheless.

Porsche hasn’t wowed me with the Taycan. It’s had multiple recalls, software issues, and pricey services—thankfully you can get these done at any garage here in Norway. I’m probably moving to something like a Volvo XC90 for my family. The Porsche premium just isn’t worth it for the Taycan in my opinion.

@Masitsa
If that class action lawsuit works out, everyone’s batteries should be protected.

Ever thought of going for something more economical like a Dacia?

I mentioned Volvo because that’s what I prefer. I don’t need to pretend about my finances—I am financially secure. Not everyone can afford pricey cars, and there’s no need to shame that.

@Masitsa
No one who can truly afford a Porsche would complain about service costs. It’s all about perspective.

Here’s some context: a Taycan service at Porsche costs 14,000NOK, at a certified shop not affiliated with Porsche: 3500NOK. They do the same work, have the same qualifications, and the service still keeps the car’s warranty intact. Being wealthy doesn’t mean you let people overcharge you—it’s about principles, not just money.

@Masitsa
You make a fair point about practical spending. I see your perspective now, especially for those who take care of their own vehicles.

I’m waiting for the eTarga to come out.

Not really, just wishful thinking. They’re likely rolling out an eCayman soon though. Check this out: https://www.caranddriver.com/porsche/718-ev

@Penny
A bit underwhelming.

I’m waiting for the next version of the Taycan.

Planning to keep mine until the next model comes out.

I’m tempted by the Lotus Emiras. It’s hard thinking about going back to an ICE car for daily use, though, as they aren’t exactly pet-friendly.
