I’m seriously considering buying an EV6 in the next few weeks. I’m almost certain it’ll be the 2024 model, and after negotiating, the dealer offered me a $420/month lease deal after trading in my 10-year-old Forte koup. Everything seems to check out, but I’m unsure if getting the 2024 model is the best option or if I should wait for the 2025 version. Is it worth waiting?
Also, a friend suggested that I look into dealerships in different states, like Colorado, and have them ship it to me. Anyone here tried that? Is it worth the extra hassle?

I saw a dealership in NYC selling the 2024 for 34k. These cars are getting cheaper every day.
I got my Wind model in Washington state for 34k. Didn’t get the tech package, but the discounts are wild right now. They’re trying to clear the 2024 inventory.
You can probably get this deal anywhere, especially with a lease. I got $7500 off lease rebate, $10000 Kia cash discount, plus $3400 dealer discount. It was a 2-year/12,000-mile lease. Without the lease, you could get it for at least 40k.
I leased a 2024 Wind RWD from out of state about 7 months ago because they had too much demand locally. My deal was $374 a month, 24 months at 10k miles. The sale price was about $35.5k with a residual value of $30.5k.
I’m in NOVA too. I bought a CPO 2022 GT Line from Florida. It took about 2 weeks, mainly because of paperwork and loan processing. It’s definitely doable with the right dealership. I’d recommend having a good connection with the sales and finance team. I can also suggest a vehicle shipping company if you need one.
@Jensen
I’m in NOVA as well, and I have both an EV6 and a Niro EV. I might need vehicle shipping for a family car soon, so I’d appreciate a recommendation for a good shipper. Also, the EV6 is great. A smooth ride and perfect for road trips with its quick DC charging.
@Jensen
Thanks for the insight. How did you find the dealership in Florida? I’m not sure where to start. A recommendation for the shipping company would also be helpful.

I spent months searching on AutoTempest and CarGurus, checking a 500-mile radius and even nationwide listings. You can find some great deals if you put in the time.
If you’re leaning towards leasing, I’m happy I went that route. You could also consider buying used for a good deal. The 2025 model has some improvements, but they’re not huge changes. I leased a 2023 GT Line, and the numbers are pretty close.
It’ll be a while before we see any good deals on the 2025 models. I don’t know if it matters to you, but the 2025 model has its charge port on the left side, which is annoying for street charging. Plus, it uses NACS instead of CCS, so you’ll need an adapter to charge at most stations.
I’m in the same dilemma. The 2025 model has some great updates like wireless CarPlay, improved infotainment, and a new NACS port. Some people don’t like the style changes, but I actually like them.
I was leaning towards waiting for the 2025, but now I’m thinking of leasing the 2024. I feel like it’s a massive upgrade from my 2018 car, and I could always buy the 2024 after my lease is up if I really like it.
@Tobin
I’m with you on that. The upgrades are nice, but I’m not sure it’s worth waiting months for. I like the style updates, so I’m leaning towards the 2024 at this point.
