Northvolt’s Bankruptcy … What Does This Mean for Europe’s EV Goals?

Where did you get that information? I want to avoid bad companies too.

I read Nordic finance news. And Northvolt isn’t listed.

@Emory
Are they still supporting the strike against Tesla? Refusing to sell them batteries?

That’s irrelevant, Tesla isn’t involved in this at all, and they never were.

The company that buys the most batteries in the world, buying up everything it can find, has nothing to do with the battery maker that went bankrupt? I think that makes sense.

@River
You can make up whatever story you want, but Northvolt is a European company with European customers. Early production went to Scania, which makes buses and trucks. If you spend a little time searching, you’ll find this out for yourself.

The only link to Tesla is that some of the people who started Northvolt came from Tesla.

@Adi
Have you heard of Gigafactory Berlin? Tesla has a large manufacturing presence in Europe.

Again, Tesla wasn’t involved in Northvolt’s customer base. Northvolt had substantial preorders before large-scale production, none of them were from Tesla. Tesla only came up because of the Metal union strike against them. Europe has an EV issue, and Northvolt is just one company struggling with it.
