No, it’s a software bug causing the ICCU failure. I’ve had 4 updates for this, none fixed it completely. I had to replace my 12V within the first year, and it’s been 9 months since I replaced it.
I agree with getting AAA. They offer free towing up to 200 miles each year. As for your EV, I had a similar issue with my Tesla. It didn’t shut down completely but warned me about losing media functions. I still drove it, though. Once home, I contacted Tesla via the app and sorted it out.
