I joined the club. Such a great car… is this the one for you too?

I recently joined the Kia Niro EV club. So far, I’m loving this car! Has anyone else had the chance to try one out? What do you think of it?

Agreed. Kia Niro EV is a vastly under-rated vehicle.

Really is. Like, better interior than the EV6 (space-usage-wise and comfort) and better efficiency it seems.

I’ve had mine two months and it’s by far my favorite car I’ve ever owned or regularly driven. Never going back to ICE.

1 month for me. Same.

Nice color! We love ours. Best car I’ve ever owned.

Thank you. I like that it’s not flashy.

Yes it’s very understated.

Nice! I like the colour, we’ve had ours since January, love it.

Thank you. The dealer only had a white one. We told them that we wanted it in Blue, Green and last choice would be Red. I think I’m happier with the Green. They found this one about 80 miles away.

@Marlow
Yeah we wanted the green or blue but. Wound up with the interstellar grey (last one on the lot). Enjoy it, I’m at almost 30,000 km in the first year and everything’s going great minus the tires… but those are easy to upgrade from the garbage they put on them.

@SolarSeraph
Wow, That’s a lot of driving. We didn’t see the Grey on the lot but on the computer it looks real nice. I would have taken it over White OR Red for sure. I didn’t think of it when they were asking what they should look for. I do like having really good tires but I might be too cheap to replace these soon.

@Marlow
Where’d you find yours? We’ve been trying to find a green/wave/heat pump model for a while now… Preferably lightly used/cpo, but I might be shelving that requirement soon.

I think they found it at a dealer in Kirkland Washington but I’m not sure. We bought it new.

Looks like mine. You have the Wind package too?

Ours is the Wave package. I’m currently driving myself batty looking for a charger.

Does your utility offer any deals on charging, including discounts on EVSEs? My utility gives them out free and offers a low off-peak rate using the data provided by the EVSE. Meanwhile, Plugshare will provide you with nearby charging options, including some homeowners that allow you to charge at their homes.

@Day
Oops, I meant a portable charger. Right now I’m borrowing my daughter’s Chevy Bolt charger but I’d like to find one that could later be used on 220v. Thanks for the Plugshare tip. I installed it and I’m going through the filtering process. It’s a great app. I’ll have to check what PSE has for charging support. Thanks for the ideas.

@Marlow
For the ultimate portable charger, I’d recommend the Grizzl-E Mini. It has all the plugs you might want but also works well as a daily/permanent charger if you choose to do it that way.

Thank you. That’s the one I’m most interested in. The IP connection is going to be challenging for me but I’m sure my daughter will find a way to make it easier for me.
