I am surprised that the New S-class looks already outdated next to the EQS!

The picture says it all. Any comments?

Although I am a lover of EVs, I always prefer the looks of the S-class. It is no secret that it looks more classy and timeless. In addition, it has better room on the back seats.

But the sad fact is that I couldn’t afford either :joy:

It is not as bad as some guys bring it. I think Mercedes needs to try harder with the design of their next-generation electric vehicles.

The guys clearly know that the EQS is uglier or they would have made the regular S look similar. The S is what tin their mind looks good because they didn’t care about efficiency. The EQS is actually built to have low wind resistance so that they can maximize the range. I think both are basically brand new but they’ are just designed for different things.

Without bias, the EQS just looks great. I won’t disgrace the designers by calling the S-Class ugly but it looks outdated though.

I think it’s just a different style.

They both without a doubt look ugly to me. EQS simply looks like a Civic with the poly count turned down. On the other hand, the S-class grille looks comically huge.

The S-Class is stately and classy. The EQS on the other hand has an ugly bulbous shape.

In ten to fifteen years, the EQS will undoubtedly feel like a “period” automobile. On modern automobile lots, however, the W221 from 2007 wouldn’t appear too out of place.

I apologize to anyone I might offend by my comment in prior.

I know we are supposed to like EVs here in this forum, but that EQS looks like a soggy wet sock.

I at most times experience EQS in person and it is very distinctive. It is a sad fact that a lot of electric cars these days end up looking like props from an 80s sci-fi movie :joy:, but either way the EQS captures the electro-futurism concept nicely.

As a Mercedes entutiasist, I like the direction the company is taking in making the EVs but I don’t think the EQS is nearly the prettiest they could have made it.

In my imagination, I think it is full of incredible tech but I think it is going to look very dated in short order.

I am not insinuating that making a timeless design is easy but the EQS is far far from a timeless design hence the guys should up their game a little.
