Hi everyone… I’m thinking about getting a Certified Pre-Owned Porsche Taycan. I want to know how much the mileage affects the car’s value. I plan to use it for my daily commute, which is about 500km a week, adding up to around 25k a year. I might use it for two years and then cut back on the driving, or if everything goes great, I might switch to a new one. If you had to choose between a base model at 41,000 or a Turbo S at 128,000 with the same extras, what would you pick? Are there any other options I should consider? Is there a mileage point where the car starts having issues?
I’ve got 92k miles (148k km) on mine and I haven’t faced any major issues.

What’s the condition of your battery like?

The battery seems fine. I still get about 240 in summer and 210 in winter. It hasn’t changed since I got it four years ago.
@Rowan
Which model and battery do you have?

It’s a 2021 4S with the larger battery if that’s what you mean by model.

So it’s a 4S with the performance battery plus… I’m looking to buy the same one. What are your yearly ownership costs?
@Hartley
So far, just tires for standard yearly maintenance. I haven’t even changed the brakes yet.
I drive mine every day and did 18k last year without any issues. Between the base and the Turbo S, I find the base a bit too slow. Most folks say the 4S is the sweet spot for performance in the first generation Taycan. The Turbo S is incredibly fast, definitely worth the extra cash.
@Brice
I’d say the Turbo (S) isn’t worth the price. The speed is crazy and not really usable in daily traffic. The 4S has more than enough power, and honestly, the RWD is fine for daily use.

I have a 4S with around 500hp, and it’s super fast, beating most cars out there, but I still want more…

RWD is enough for daily driving, but why settle for just enough? Why not go for something more exciting?
With electric cars, mileage doesn’t matter much if you plan to keep it long-term. You will end up replacing the battery eventually.
